The Final Chapter Unlocked

Three years after their previous release, Mall Boyz [ @tohji ] + [ @8gummyboy8 ] have returned with Mall Tape 3, a long-awaited 19-track full-length album that serves as both a culmination of their journey and the beginning of a new chapter.

Arriving during a turbulent year marked by Tohji's announced retirement, Mall Tape 3 follows two defining EPs that helped establish Mall Boyz as one of the most influential collectives in contemporary Japanese music.

The story began in 2018 with Mall Tape, a DIY project built around the idea of the shopping mall — a shared cultural landscape for a generation that grew up without a singular hometown or neighborhood to call their own. Years later, after each member had evolved through their own solo careers, the group reunited for Mall Tape 2, demonstrating both artistic growth and a renewed collective vision.

Now, Mall Tape 3 brings together everything that has defined Mall Boyz over the years. The album features an extensive cast of collaborators who have crossed paths with the collective throughout their journey, including @elleteresa_, TRIGA FINGA, kZm, ZENDAMAN, BIM, ralph, JUMADIBA, NENE, Ryugo Ishida, Fuji Taito, and RY0N4.

Production comes from longtime collaborators and key figures within Japan's underground scene, including Chaki Zulu, @masagotta4l, Will Be Saiga, Automatic, Double Clapperz, and @gentoku.

Spanning 19 tracks, Mall Tape 3 stands as the definitive statement from Mall Boyz to date — a celebration of everything they have built together, and perhaps the beginning of a new legend within Japanese underground music.
